One fire appliance from Wells was mobilised to a report of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision with one of the vehicles smoking.
On arrival at the scene fire crews reported a 2 vehicle road traffic collision with no persons trapped.  The cause of the smoke was due to airbags being deployed.  Crews made the vehicles safe.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a fire in the open, at the above location.

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed eight hay bales to be alight and requested the attendance of a second pump from Wells.

Location: Wellington Place, Cheddar

One fire appliance from Cheddar, one from Wells and one from Burnham on Sea were sent to a report of a fire involving an electric shower in a property at the above location.
On arrival crews confirmed that there had been a fire in the electric shower but that the fire was now out.  The scene was inspected and the property ventilated.

Location: Goodymoor Avenue, Wells

Fire crews from Wells, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet were all mobilised to reports of a property fire in the above location.
On arrival, crews confirmed a small fire involving unattended cooking within an oven which was out prior to their arrival.
Crews ventilated the smoke from the premise using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
The fire caused 10% smoke damage to the property, and was deemed accidental.

Location: Elm Close, Wells

Two fire engines from Wells and Shepton along with the rescue tender from Glastonbury were mobilised to reports of an RTC with 1 person still inside a vehicle.
Crews confirmed there was 1 person being assessed by paramedics and crews got to work formulating a plan to extricate. Crews assisted paramedics with first aid and at 1115hrs crews confirmed that the casualty was led from the vehicle safely by paramedics. Fire crews carried out traffic duties and left duty of care with police and ambulance.

I realised the first significant part of that challenge on the Mendip Tour on May 13 when I drove my beloved British Racing Green MGTD the 100 miles from Wells to Burnham-on-Sea, then to the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford and back to Wells Cathedral Green for the finish.

It may not seem that far for most of you but for me it represented the 'longest journey' after being diagnosed.
