Wells College Road to shut for emergency tree works

College Road in Wells is set to close under an emergency road notice on Thursday, 16 April 2026. The closure is scheduled to run from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm while MTL Group Ltd carries out tree works.
The notification says the closure will be in place for a total of six hours. It is listed under reference ttro405355E.
Drivers are being told that access through the site will not be permitted for emergency services on this occasion. That means no vehicles will be allowed through the works area while the closure is live.
The notice states the closure is needed to allow the tree works to be completed safely. Anyone seeking more information has been asked to contact MTL Group Ltd on 01749 671970 and quote the reference number.
Motorists in Wells may want to allow extra time and use alternative routes during the closure period.
