Join the West Mendip Walkers for scenic Thursday walks in March

Thursday 6th March: Join the West Mendip Walkers for an easy-to-moderate 9-mile circular walk starting from Compton Dando (BS39 4JZ). Stroll along the Chew Valley, passing through Tuckingmill and alongside Bathford Brook. You'll traverse Marksbury Vale, move west across open fields and woodlands to Hunstrete, and continue over undulating terrain to Pensford's outskirts. The route loops back eastwards through the Chew Valley, ending via Woollard at the starting point. The track is predominantly dog-friendly, featuring fields with stiles and footbridges.

Thursday 20th March: Set out on a 10.5-mile moderate walk across relatively level terrain, except for the Glastonbury Tor area. This excursion is not suitable for dogs due to otters, nesting birds, urban roads, sheep, waterways, and cattle. Starting from the Ham Wall car park (BA6 9SX) at Ashcott Corner, you'll journey towards Glastonbury along old rail tracks, cross fields, and ascend Wearyall Hill. The path navigates the A361, past Tythe Barn and Chalice Well Garden, followed by an ascent and descent of the Tor. Complete the circular route through Bushy Combe, Glastonbury, and back to the starting point.
