West Mendip Walkers moderate, pleasantly varied, 19 kms (11.8 miles) circular walk from Dulverton with 370 metres (1,214 feet) of ascent. The walk crosses the bridge over the River Barle in Dulverton before climbing in a Westerly direction through Burridge Wood. The walk then continues Westerly over underlating fields, where there may be livestock, to Higher Chilcott. We pick up the Two Moors Way, heading North, before descending through West Hollowcombe Wood to pick up a good path on the banks of the River Barle. The last 5 miles of the walk are a very pleasant mostly flat, occasionally undulating, path alongside the banks of the River Barle back to Dulverton. There will be the option of Afternoon Tea in Dulverton at the culmination of the walk. West Mendip Walkers easy to moderate 9.5 miles (15.3 kms) circular walk from Withypool (TA24 7RB) with 1,100 feet (335 metres of ascent). The walk starts from the small car park to the West of the main centre of Withypool.
