Location: The Cliffs, Cheddar Gorge, Cheddar

One fire appliance from Cheddar and one from Wells assisted the Ambulance Service to rescue a man, with a possible broken leg, after he fell down a slope at the above location.
Fire crews liaised with Paramedics and created two safety hand rails using safety lines for the transportation of the casualty from the scene.

WELLS police station could be relocated to Wells fire station after Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens approved the preferred decision at her recent Police and Crime Board.

A business case presented at the PCC's recent Police and Crime Board on July 4 outlined the proposal which will see a new purpose built £200,000 base for the local policing team with Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service at their fire station on Burcott Road.

Over 7,000 Somerset residents and organisations took part in a 19-week library service redesign consultation, Somerset County Council's Scrutiny Committee heard today.

Survey respondents were asked to review a set of proposals for the library they visit most often and consider the impacts the proposals will have on them, their family and their communities. They were also asked for alternative ideas on delivering library services going forward.
