Wells youngsters to grill councillors at parish meeting
By Laura Linham 27th Mar 2026
Young people are set to take centre stage at this year's Annual Parish Meeting for St Cuthbert Out Parish Council, with a Junior Question Time planned in Coxley.
Pupils from Years 5 and 6 at Coxley, Horrington and WCS Junior Schools are due to put their questions to councillors at Coxley Memorial Hall from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, 10 April.
Organisers say the children have already drawn up a list of issues they want to raise, including questions about how councillors spend residents' precept money.
The free event will be hosted by Dean Mortlock of Wells Voice, with Tessa Munt MP attending as prize giver. Light refreshments will also be available, and residents are being encouraged to come along and support the young questioners.
St Cuthbert Out Parish Council said the Annual Parish Meeting is for residents and is not the same as a normal council meeting.
For Wells and surrounding villages, the event offers a rare chance to hear directly from younger residents about the issues they want answered — and to see councillors put on the spot by the next generation.
