Dame Emma Kirkby and Jakob Lindberg: Time Stands Still at Cedars Hall

Music aficionados in Wells have a rare treat in store this Friday, 19th January, as Cedars Hall hosts "Time Stands Still", a concert featuring the legendary Dame Emma Kirkby and renowned Swedish lutenist Jakob Lindberg.

This intimate evening of music revolves around lute songs and solos by John Dowland and other composers from England and France, circa 1600.

Roller Disco at Wells Sport & Fitness

Kick off the weekend on Friday, 19th January, from 6.30 pm to 8 pm with the Eleven Roller Disco at Wells Sport & Fitness. This fun-filled roller skating event promises great music and games, all in a safe environment supervised by a dedicated volunteer marshal team. Whether you're a seasoned skater or just starting out, you can bring your own skates or hire some at the venue. Safety equipment is also available and strongly recommended. Kevin Westwood Fundraising Concert at Wells Town Hall

On Saturday, 20th January, Wells Town Hall will be the venue for the Kevin Westwood Fundraising Concert, benefiting Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Nurses. The event starts at 8 pm, with doors opening at 7.30 pm. The concert features Tim Pitman, a versatile artist known for his captivating performances, and Junk Male, a popular covers band renowned for their energetic rock classics. Aikido Alive Winter Course with Bjorn Saw

The Aikido Alive Winter Course, led by Bjorn Saw, 5th dan, will take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st January at Wells Blue Sports Centre on Kennion Rd. This event is a fantastic opportunity for Aikido enthusiasts to deepen their practice under the guidance of a seasoned expert.

Croscombe Village Orchestra Concert

Also on Saturday, 20th January, the Croscombe Village Orchestra will present their Winter Concert at the Croscombe Village Hall (BA5 3RA). The concert, featuring works by Schubert, Haydn, Mozart, and Britten, starts at 7 pm. Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for under 14s.

Trombone Day at Cedars Hall

Sunday, 21st January, brings Trombone Day to Cedars Hall, The Liberty, Wells. This event, running from 10 am to 5 pm, is a must for trombone enthusiasts and musicians, offering a day dedicated to this unique instrument.

Evensong at St Laurence's Church, Priddy

To wind down the weekend, attend Evensong at St Laurence's Church in Priddy on Sunday from 6 pm to 7 pm. This traditional service provides a peaceful end to a bustling weekend.
