Wells: Kat Kinshaw wins St Thomas' by-election

Kat Kinshaw has won the Wells City Council St Thomas' Ward by-election after securing 754 votes in Thursday's poll.
The result was confirmed by Somerset Council, acting as the election authority.
Liberal Democrat candidate Kat Kinshaw secured 754 votes to win the vacant seat on the city council.
The full result was:
- Kat Kinshaw (Liberal Democrat) — 754 votes
- Bernard Mealing (Independent) — 161 votes
- Jamie Mochrie (Green Party) — 338 votes
- Greg Stone (Reform UK) — 302 votes
The official declaration showed turnout in the election was 46.18 per cent.
Six ballot papers were rejected during the count.
Wells City Council said its councillors and staff welcomed Councillor Kinshaw into her new role.
The by-election was held to fill a vacant seat in St Thomas' Ward.
