Camera crews are back in Wells, believed to be for the filming of Wolf Hall.

"Wolf Hall," a BBC series that delves into the tumultuous lives of Henry VIII and his trusted advisor Thomas Cromwell, is adapted from Hilary Mantel's acclaimed novels. The series first graced our screens in 2015, with parts of it filmed right here in Wells.

The upcoming sequel, "Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light," has commenced production in 2023, with a planned release in 2024. According to IMDb, this series will chronicle the final four years of Cromwell's life, highlighting his rise to become one of the most influential figures of his time.

The stellar cast features Damian Lewis ("Band of Brothers") as Henry VIII and Mark Rylance ("The BFG," "Bridge of Spies") in the role of Thomas Cromwell, bringing these historical figures to life with compelling depth.

With "Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light," viewers can look forward to the continued exploration of Cromwell's complex character, portrayed against the backdrop of a turbulent Tudor England. The return of renowned actors such as Sir Mark Rylance, Sir Jonathan Pryce, Kate Phillips, Damian Lewis, and Lilit Lesser in their respective roles promises another series of rich storytelling and dramatic intrigue.

A parking suspension was put in place by Somerset Council on Cathedral Green from 5am on Monday, March 4 until 7pm on Wednesday, March 6. The road will also be closed on Thursday, March 7 at 6am until Friday, March 8 at 8am, and once again from Thursday, March 14 at 6am until Friday, March 15 at 6pm.
