Wells Carnival calls for new volunteers to help keep event running smoothly

Wells City Carnival organisers have launched a call for more volunteers to help keep the long-running event running smoothly.
The popular November procession has been part of Wells life since 1902 and regularly attracts thousands of spectators. But the team behind it say more people are needed to join the committee and help on the night.
The committee meets once a month, with more regular meetings as the event approaches. No special skills are required, and help is also needed with marshalling and street collections.
Anyone interested in volunteering or finding out more can contact Carnival Secretary Nikki Toole at [email protected].
