Wells care home lands 'outstanding' health and safety rating after top inspection

A Wells care home has been given an 'Outstanding' health and safety rating following a top-level inspection by Barchester Healthcare's Head of Health and Safety.
Crandon Springs Care Home, based in the heart of the city, earned the accolade after a rigorous assessment by Andy Hollingshead, who praised the site's exemplary standards and commitment to resident and staff safety.
The home, which is part of the Barchester group, joins a long line of facilities under the company's banner to be recognised for best practice. Barchester has scooped the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health and Safety Healthcare Sector Award six years in a row.
General Manager Meg Cleal said the recognition was a testament to her team's hard work.
"We are thrilled to receive this 'Outstanding' rating from Barchester Healthcare," she said.
"It reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team, from care staff to maintenance. Ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents is our top priority, and this recognition affirms our commitment to excellence."
Crandon Springs resident ambassador Christine Trutch added: "When I first came to live at Crandon Springs over two years ago, I was made to feel really welcome, and I liked it so much I decided to stay. There's a happy atmosphere, everyone is so helpful, it's clean and I feel very safe and well cared for."
Crandon Springs offers residential, dementia and respite care. The team say they are focused on providing individualised support in a safe, respectful and friendly setting.
More information about the home is available on the Barchester Healthcare website.
