Thieves have broken into a set of storage units just outside Wells and made off with tools and specialist tree surgery equipment.

The raid happened overnight between Wednesday 14 May and Thursday 15 May in Easton, and police say "a number of items" were taken.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed: "A number of items have been taken including tools and tree surgeon equipment. Our investigations are ongoing."

The exact value of the stolen equipment hasn't been disclosed, but officers are asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Easton area to get in touch.
