UP CLOSE: “We’re here 24/7 — because pets don’t keep office hours”

They've been looking after Wells' pets for more than half a century — but now Westfield Vets has a new name.
Say hello to Nurture, your independent local vets with a modern look, a fresh approach, and a firm belief that your pet deserves more than just a check-up.
So what's changed?
"Honestly, not as much as people might think," says Sasha Moore, part of the team at Nurture. "We're still the same vets, nurses and support staff. The name is new, but our values haven't changed — if anything, we've doubled down on them."
Care that doesn't clock off
Nurture now brings together two practices — Wells (formerly Westfield Vets) and Weston-super-Mare (formerly Summer Lane Vets) — under one shared vision. And in the heart of Wells, it's the only small animal hospital.
"We've got a fully accredited RCVS Tier 3 hospital right here in Wells," Sasha says. "What that means in real terms is your pet is never left in the care of a stranger at 3am. If they need help out of hours, they'll see the same team they know from the daytime."

High standards, low stress
The team at Nurture are also proud to be one of just 18 practices in the world — and only the second in the South West — to receive the Zero Pain Accreditation.
"Pain management is something we take incredibly seriously," says Sasha. "Whether it's recovering from surgery or living with a chronic condition, no pet should suffer in silence. We're constantly improving our protocols to make sure we do right by every single animal we treat."
Nurture also offers keyhole (laparoscopic) spays, advanced dental care (including pre-op x-rays), and tailored plans for every life stage.
"We invest in the equipment and training that lets us offer better care with less discomfort. Keyhole surgery, for example, means smaller wounds, quicker healing, and a much easier recovery for your pet. Why wouldn't we want that for them?"

Looking after the humans too
It's not just pets Nurture looks after — their Health Care Plans are designed to make life easier for owners too.
"Our Health Care Plans cover all the routine stuff — vaccinations, flea and worming, regular checks — in one monthly payment," Sasha explains. "It saves you money, but more importantly it means nothing gets missed."
During this festive season, Nurture is saying thank you to its loyal plan members with free gifts: teaser toys for cats and a choice of doggy accessories for canine visitors.
"It's a small gesture, but it means a lot to us," says Sasha. "We're so grateful for the support we've had from the local community — and we love seeing our patients.

They're open 24/7, because life (and toothache) doesn't stop at 5pm.
