Christmas Artisan Market returns to The Bishop’s Palace in November

The Christmas season is set to kick off in style at The Bishop's Palace in Wells, as the Christmas Artisan Market returns on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November 2025 (10am–4pm each day).
The medieval rooms of the Palace will be filled with stalls showcasing handmade and locally crafted gifts — from decorations to cards and one‑of‑a‑kind treasures — accompanied by live music in the atmospheric setting. Admission (at a reduced day rate) includes access to the Palace itself and the award‑winning 14 acres of RHS Partner Gardens.
Visitors can also enjoy a break in the Bishop's Table café, serving a seasonal menu with views over the croquet lawns.
"Visitors tell us the Artisan Market is the perfect way to start their Christmas shopping," said Merryn Kidd, CEO of The Bishop's Palace. She added that each ticket supports the upkeep of the heritage site, which is run by The Palace Trust on behalf of the Church Commissioners.
Tickets will be available in advance and on the day.
