If you are looking for things to do in Wells this week, there is plenty happening from Thursday 26 March to Monday 30 March 2026. Events in Wells include a baby-friendly writers workshop at Caryford Community Hall, a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion at Wells Cathedral, Act to Adapt at Wells Town Hall, and the Trio Paradis Café Concert at St Thomas' Church. For anyone searching for Wells events this weekend and early next week, it is a strong little line-up.

Things begin on Thursday 26 March with Writers Workshop with SomeMums and The Write Assistant at Caryford Community Hall in Wells. It is described as a baby-friendly session for mums who want to start journalling their birth story, with prompts, creative exercises and free-flowing writing. No experience is needed, babies are welcome, and the ticket includes a hot drink, water and a pastry from Lievito Bakery, which is a decent way to lure people into creativity if we are honest.

Friday 27 March is doing the most. In Glastonbury, Glastonbury Carers Group takes place at Brunel Glastonbury Care Home from 10.30am as a free and informal gathering for unpaid carers, with support, conversation and activities for the person they care for as well. In Wells, J.S. Bach St Matthew Passion brings Armonico Consort to Wells Cathedral, directed by former Wells Cathedral scholar Christopher Monks, with Nathan Vale singing the Evangelist. Also on Friday, Art Bank - Jimbino Vegan & The Jazz Cannibals lands at The Art Bank in Shepton Mallet, with doors at 7pm and music from 8.30pm. It is a Magic Hat Night, so there are no tickets and people can pay what they feel, which is either gloriously free-spirited or a quiet test of your conscience. Under-18s must leave by 9pm because licensing laws remain stubbornly unimpressed by good rhythm.

On Saturday, The Childless Village meets at The Crown in Glastonbury as a relaxed social space for adults who are childless and looking for connection. Then there is soul night at Timo's Cafe in Glastonbury, which sounds straightforward until the listing decides to have a minor identity crisis. The page gives Saturday 28 March, while the body text says Friday 27 March from 7pm to 9pm, so that one is worth checking before anyone ends up dancing sadly outside on the wrong evening.

Sunday 29 March brings Writers Lunch with the Write Assistant at The Middlewick Cafe in Glastonbury at 1pm. The event is billed as a relaxed gathering for writers to chat, write and swap ideas over lunch, with the meal and one hot or cold drink included in the ticket. Booking is required, which feels fair enough when food is involved. Hallr Wood Open Day runs in Charlton Mackrell from 12pm to 5pm, with trails, crafts, bird mask making, a procession, choir and poet's corner all on the line-up.

Monday 30 March rounds things off in Wells with a slightly chaotic but admirable double bill. Act to Adapt takes place at Wells Town Hall and promises advice on making your home weather-proof and growing your own food, which is either sensible planning or the first step towards becoming gloriously self-righteous about courgettes. Also on Monday, Trio Paradis Café Concert: Spring Waters is due at St Thomas' Church at 11am, with the listing noting a change of date to avoid Easter Monday.
