Trinity College Choir in concert at Wells Cathedral

Wells Cathedral

UNTIL Saturday 10th July

Wells Cathedral is thrilled to have secured the Choir of Trinity College Cambridge to perform for one night on Saturday July 10.

With a fantastic programme including William Walton's The Twelve and Duruflé's Requiem, this is a performance not to be missed.

About Trinity College Choir:

Voted the fifth best choir in the world in Gramophone magazine's '20 Greatest Choirs', The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge comprises around 30 Choral Scholars and two Organ Scholars, all of whom are students at the university.

Directors of music have included Charles Villiers Stanford, Alan Gray, Raymond Leppard, Richard Marlow and Stephen Layton, who has been director of music since 2006.

Recent additions to the choir's extensive discography include Howells' Collegium Regale, which won Australia's Limelight Recording of the Year in 2016; Howells' Requiem and other works, which won a Gramophone Award in 2012; and Beyond All Mortal Dreams, settings of contemporary American a cappella music, which was nominated for a US Grammy Award in the same year.

The latest release is a recording of choral works by Finzi, described by Gramophone as "a beautifully crafted disc" and an "outstanding release".

Please note: Tickets are banded, and seats will be allocated by the cathedral accordingly to allow for households/bubbles to be sufficiently socially distanced from each other.

Student tickets are available in the second half of the Nave. Thank you for patience and understanding.
