Watch: Wells' song of hope from lockdown

By Guest 16th Jul 2021

Wells acoustic music duo The Portraits are releasing a new single featuring some of the city's most talented performers and singers uniting from lockdown to spread the song's simple message: Don't Worry!

Thanks to the power of the internet, a total of 30 performers, including a number of music students from the Blue School and local choir the Skylarks, have come together on screen in perfect harmony, as The Portraits' producer Jeremy Millington explains.

"We'd sent everyone a score with the part we wanted them to play or sing and a rough demo of the song, and each person fired us back a video of their performance from their bedroom or garden," he said.

"I then had a great time putting them all together, and quickly realised the results were very special.

"The song is only as good as it is because everyone gave it their all: maybe that shows just how keen we all are to send the world a giant and heartfelt hug right now."

The Portraits were due to perform at this summer's Glastonbury Festival, now postponed until June 2021, as well as this year's Godney Gathering.

The single Don't Worry is dedicated to all those toiling tirelessly to fight Covid-19 and to the loved ones it has taken from us and is out now on iTunes, Spotify and all popular digital platforms.
