Wells has been named one of Somerset's happiest places to live — landing in fifth place in a new nationwide poll.
The survey, which asked 5,000 people across the UK to rate their towns and cities, placed Bath top in Somerset, followed by Minehead, Bruton and Frome. Wells rounded out the county's top five.
The research was carried out by online homeware company Furniturebox, which asked respondents to rate their area for beauty, green spaces, schools, affordability, pubs, restaurants, independent shops and cultural attractions.
A spokesperson said: "The happiest places are not defined by wealth, but by the quality of life within them — and Wells stands out for exactly that."
Bath also made the national top 75, which was topped by Norwich, followed by Skipton, Malvern, Nantwich and Banbury.
The results reinforce Wells' reputation as a desirable place to live — with its cathedral, market square, surrounding countryside and independent shops all contributing to its strong showing.
