Wells residents will have two chances to speak directly to neighbourhood police officers this month.

Avon and Somerset Police has listed two beat surgeries in the city, giving people the chance to raise concerns, ask for advice or speak to officers about local issues.

The first session will be held at The Good Earth on Wednesday, 5 August, from 10 am to 11 am. A second session is listed for Morrisons in Wells on Wednesday, 12 August.

The events are part of the neighbourhood policing team's regular work in the city. They are designed to give residents a visible, face-to-face way to speak to local officers without needing to make a formal appointment.

People can use the sessions to discuss concerns about crime, anti-social behaviour or safety in their area. They can also ask for crime prevention advice or find out more about the work being carried out by the local policing team.

The drop-ins come after police updates in Wells covering local priorities including shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and violence against women and girls. Officers have also been promoting community contact through beat surgeries and local engagement.

No booking is needed for the sessions. Residents can attend during the published times and speak to officers in person.
