By Laura Linham 19th Jun 2026
Police are appealing for witnesses after a public order incident involving a number of teenagers in Wells city centre. Avon and Somerset Police said the incident happened between 6.50 pm and 8 pm on Tuesday, 9 June.
The force received a report of disorder involving a number of teenage boys and girls. It was reported to have started at Wells Bus Station before moving to High Street and St Cuthbert Street, then ending near a retailer on Tucker Street.
Police have released descriptions of three people they want to identify as part of their enquiries. The first is described as a male, believed to be of Eastern European or Turkish heritage, with medium-length brown hair, wearing a blue and white jacket and blue jogging bottoms, and carrying a man bag.
Two females, both with blond hair and wearing black hooded jumpers, were also reported to have been in the company of other teenage boys during the incident. One of the females had her hood up, and police said no further details about their descriptions have been established.
Officers said CCTV enquiries have already been carried out. Police have also spoken to witnesses and taken initial accounts from those involved while the investigation continues.
The force is now asking anyone who saw the incident, or who has relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote reference number 5226159132.
