A Wells resident has been charged with violent disorder in connection with the Bristol riots that took place in August.

Jack Nicholls, 33, was charged last night (October 1) and is set to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court today.

He is the 43rd individual to be charged over the far-right action on August 3, during which violent clashes erupted in the Castle Park area. So far, 52 people have been arrested in connection with the incident, which has seen multiple people charged or remanded in custody.

Avon and Somerset Police are continuing to investigate and have appealed for the public's help to identify several individuals captured in images released online. The force is urging anyone with information to come forward.

The August 3 riot, which started as a protest, quickly escalated into violence, resulting in several injuries and damage to property.
