Live jazz will once again take centre stage in Wells this February as a long-running weekly jazz night returns to the White Hart on Sadler Street, organisers have confirmed. The sessions, which have been running for several years, are supported by the Wells Jazz Collective and continue to attract musicians and audiences from across the city and wider Somerset.

The February programme began on Thursday, 5 February, with Triangulation, a new trio bringing together saxophone, piano and double bass to perform fresh takes on jazz standards alongside modern compositions. On Thursday, 12 February, The B Dent Trio and Friends will headline a Wells Cathedral School-led night showcasing some of the school's young jazz musicians.

A key date in the calendar follows on Monday, 16 February, with the Wells Jazz Collective Jam Session. The open event invites singers and instrumentalists of all abilities to sign up on the night and perform with the house rhythm section.

The line-up continues on Thursday, 19 February, with the return of Milly Riquelme and the Cubana Trio, offering an evening of Cuban and bossa nova-inspired jazz. The month concludes on Thursday, 26 February, with The Mark Pembrey Trio, performing material from the Great American Songbook.

All events take place at the White Hart, 19–21 Sadler Street, from 8pm to 10pm, with free entry. Further details are available via the Jazz at the White Hart Facebook page, or by contacting the venue on 01749 678642.
