A free prostate cancer testing event will be held at Wells Town Hall next month for men aged 40 and over.

The Somerset Prostate Support Association (SPSA) is running the event on Saturday, 21 February 2026, from 10am to 4pm. Tests are confidential and carried out by qualified medical professionals, but must be booked in advance via the SPSA website — no walk-ins will be accepted on the day.

Each appointment takes 10–15 minutes and could help detect prostate cancer early, when treatment is more likely to be successful. Around 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in the UK, and around 10,000 die from the disease.

To book, visit mypsatests.org.uk/events and search for SPSA. For queries, contact Peter Hopwood on 01458 441669 or email [email protected].
