The Wells in Gloom competition is back for its 2023 edition, inviting all residents and businesses in and around Wells to get into the Halloween spirit.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their windows or outside spaces, with the winners set to be judged on 30th and 31st October. The prize up for grabs? A sumptuous £50 hamper.

The competition is more than just a celebration of Halloween; it's a heartfelt initiative raising funds for St Margaret's Hospice.

Tina Smith Blackwill, the event organiser, spoke about the cause's significance to her. "This event is in aid of St Margaret's Hospice," she said. "This is very very close to my heart. My husband passed away this summer and went to St Margaret's Hospice, they were absolutely incredible. Please, please support."
