Two cars were destroyed and a nearby property was damaged in a fire in Wells during the early hours of Tuesday, 6 January 2026.
Fire crews from Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called out just before 3.45am following multiple reports of vehicles ablaze. On arrival, firefighters found both cars well alight and confirmed the flames had spread to an adjacent building, causing minor damage.
Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to bring the incident under control. Both vehicles were completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The fire service has not confirmed whether any injuries were reported or if police are involved.
