Wells Comedy Festival adds extra Nish Kumar show
By Laura Linham 6th May 2026
Wells Comedy Festival is gearing up for its tenth anniversary weekend, with less than a month to go before comics take over the city from Friday, 22 May to Sunday, 24 May 2026.
Organisers have confirmed an extra Nish Kumar show has been added after Lou Sanders had to cancel her Saturday appearance.
Sanders has added a new 3 pm show on Friday, 22 May instead. Ticket holders for the cancelled or updated show have been contacted, and those with Saturday tickets who want to swap to the Friday performance have been asked to contact the festival.
Kumar will step into Sanders' former Saturday slot, giving him a third work-in-progress show at this year's festival.
Several shows are already sold out, including James Acaster, Bridget Christie, Off Menu: Live, Ed Gamble, Tim Key, Sara Pascoe and the festival gala events.
Other shows are selling fast or down to the last few tickets, including Flo & Joan, Stuart Laws, Frankie Thompson, Paul Foot, Mark Thomas, Amy Annette and Sam Nicoresti.
Tickets are still available for a number of recommended acts, including Ian Smith, Jessica Fostekew, Katie Norris, Adam Riches and Toussaint Douglass.
The festival has also reminded customers to use Twickets, its official resale partner, for selling tickets they can no longer use or buying resale tickets for sold-out shows.
Waiting lists are also available on individual ticket pages, with people contacted if extra tickets are released.
