By Guest 29th Apr 2026
With just a month to go until the gates open on The Royal Bath & West Show on 28th May, organisers are looking forward to a bumper 3 days full of old favourites and new attractions to enjoy.
The Main Ring will include the popular Pony Club Games, Show Jumping, Vintage Vehicle Parade, and Scurry, with the Shetland Pony Grand National providing the main attraction.
The Heavy Horse village (sponsored by Whistlefish) has a fresh approach this year. Featuring some of the rare breeds including Shires, Clydesdales, Percherons, Suffolks and the North American Belgian, the village will be officially opened at 10am on 28th by actor Martin Clunes, best known for his role in Doc Martin but also a heavy horse owner and President of The British Horse Society.
More four-legged entertainment is available at the Bark & West, featuring Pawsability and the Have a Go ring along with Great British Dogs.
The younger generation will be able to learn whilst they have fun at the Discover the Future attraction, which this year has a slightly different look. They can also get close to farm animals at Lakeside Farm; whilst the school and Church return to the Main Lawn. The whole family can have fun on the Family Trail, which will take visitors on a tour around the Showground with a prize to collect on completion.
The ever-popular Great British Kitchen welcomes back drinks expert Andy Clarke, who will be joined by Big Nath's BBQ, James Strawbridge, Lisa Cadd, and Eva Humphries. Foodies will be delighted to learn that the show has introduced a new Producers Market, which can be found opposite the main ring (next to the Exmoor Pavilion).
For music lovers, there is a real treat in store on the opening day with a performance by The Wurzels. Live music will be provided across all three days of the show in the Pilton Tent (Sponsored by Glastonbury Festival), as well as on the Main Lawn and roaming around the Showground.
For gardeners, this years' Pop-Up Gardens Competition challenge is to 'Design a Garden Room' and the entries, alongside other floral exhibits, can be viewed in the Horticulture Village.
With a family ticket (2 adults and 3 children) costing just £60, and concessionary rates for senior citizens, the Royal Bath & West Show is a good value day out for all the family. Camping pitches are also available at £35 per night, with VIP parking costing £30 per car.
