Wells singers are preparing to welcome an award-winning male choir for a concert supporting Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The Wells Good Afternoon Choir will perform alongside the City of Bath Male Choir at St Thomas' Church on Friday, 16 October. The concert starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

The visiting choir recently won both Overall Best Choir and Best UK Male Choir in the Category II competition at the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival, held at Truro Cathedral.

Wells' own choir is led by Ruth Jenkins and meets at St Thomas' Church on Tuesday afternoons. It is a mixed-voice community choir with no auditions required to join.

Organisers say the joint concert will feature a range of music, with a collection at the end of the evening for the air ambulance charity.

Adult tickets cost £10. Under-16s can attend free, although they still need a ticket.

Tickets can be booked online, with admission on the door subject to availability. Further information is available by calling 01761 472468. Supporting Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
