New Strawberry Line signs help walkers and cyclists find their way around Wells
By Laura Linham 6th Oct 2026
New signs have been installed along the Strawberry Line around Wells to help walkers and cyclists find and follow the route.
The signs, carrying the name Wells, were funded by Wells City Council as part of improvements to make the path more visible to residents and visitors.
The Strawberry Line team is also introducing further waymarking between Haybridge and the existing path towards Dulcote.
In an update published on Monday, 5 October, the council said there was now a continuous, clearly marked section from Haybridge to the east of Dulcote recycling centre.
A new map of the route is being prepared separately by the Strawberry Line team and will be available to collect from Wells Tourist Information.
The improvements are intended to make it easier for people to explore the countryside around the city on foot or by bike.
The council said it was supporting work that helps residents and visitors access the route. Further information is available on the Wells City Council website.
