Wells Cathedral welcomes Johns’ Boys Welsh Male Choir
By Laura Linham 7th Sep 2026
One of Britain's best-known male voice choirs is heading to Wells Cathedral for a special concert next year.
Johns' Boys Welsh Male Choir will perform in the Cathedral on Saturday, 13 February 2027, with the concert running from 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm.
The Welsh ensemble has built a national following through major television and concert appearances, including Britain's Got Talent, the Royal Variety Performance and the Last Night of the Proms.
Johns' Boys was also the first and only British male voice choir to win the prestigious Pavarotti Choir of the World title.
The group reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent, where its close harmonies and powerful performances introduced the choir to a much wider audience.
Its Wells date will bring that sound into one of the city's most impressive settings, with the vast Cathedral providing a suitably dramatic backdrop for an evening of choral music.
The concert is part of the choir's 2027 programme, which also includes performances at venues including Liverpool Cathedral, St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Coventry Cathedral and London's Union Chapel.
Johns' Boys has its roots in North Wales and has become known for combining the traditional Welsh male voice choir sound with a broad contemporary repertoire.
The Wells performance takes place on Saturday, 13 February 2027 from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at Wells Cathedral.
Tickets are available through the Johns' Boys website.
