Wells Cathedral is preparing to fill with cider, cheese and live music later this month as its Cider & Cheese Festival returns for a second year.

The event will run from 12 noon until 9 pm on Saturday, 26 September, bringing West Country producers, artisan stalls, street food and entertainment into the Cathedral.

Organisers say this year's festival will offer an even larger selection following the success of the 2025 event.

Visitors will be able to sample a range of regional ciders and cheeses, alongside stalls selling products including chutneys and preserves.

It will not be entirely about cider either. Local gin, vodka and rum will also be available, together with non-alcoholic alternatives.

Street food will be served throughout the day, while the Cathedral will also operate its own pop-up café.

Live music is planned across the event, with family entertainment including activities from Wookey Hole Caves and giant garden games.

Festival tickets include a souvenir Wells Cathedral Cider & Cheese Festival glass, an event programme with tasting notes and access to the Cathedral throughout the day.

Visitors will be free to leave and return during the festival, allowing them to explore the Cathedral as well as the food and drink on offer.

The event also has a fundraising purpose, with profits being used to support the charitable work of Wells Cathedral and the upkeep of the historic building.

The Wells Cathedral Cider & Cheese Festival takes place from 12 noon to 9 pm on Saturday, 26 September.

Tickets can be booked through the Wells Cathedral website.
