People across West Mendip who are living with persistent pain are being encouraged to take part in a free eight-session course designed to help them build the skills and confidence to better manage their condition.

The Living Well with Pain programme explores the nationally recognised Ten Footsteps to Living Well with Pain approach, supporting participants to understand how persistent pain can affect different areas of daily life and how small, achievable changes can help improve wellbeing and quality of life.

Delivered in a friendly and supportive group setting, the course covers practical self-management techniques and encourages participants to explore strategies that can help them manage pain more effectively, increase confidence, and focus on the things that matter most to them.

The programme is open to anyone registered with a practice in the West Mendip Primary Care Network (PCN), a collaboration of local GP practices working together to provide additional health and wellbeing services for our community. The network is made up of Glastonbury Health Centre, Glastonbury Surgery, Wells City Practice, Wells Health Centre and Vine Surgery Partnership.

Delivered by West Mendip PCN staff, the programme provides an opportunity for participants to learn alongside others with similar experiences, share practical ideas, and develop personalised approaches to living well with pain.

The upcoming programme will take place in Wells, with future courses planned in Glastonbury and Street as part of the PCN's ongoing commitment to bringing health and wellbeing support closer to local communities. Anyone interested in attending a future course in Glastonbury or Street is encouraged to contact the team to register their interest.
