Wells-based band The Portraits will be taking to the stage twice at this month's Glastonbury Festival.

The Portraits are the married duo Lorraine and Jeremy Millington, who reached number two on the iTunes chart in the lead-up to Christmas 2020 with a seasonal charity cover of 'Together In Electric Dreams' featuring young musicians and singers from across Somerset. The single was released to mark the losses suffered by so many during the Covid pandemic.

Now the Millingtons will be joined by a full live band featuring their two teenage children Ciara and Euan on harmony vocals/viola and drums respectively, and by another young musician from Wells, Jack Brooke, on bass guitar. Their line-up will also include long-term collaborator Vincent Imbert, from La Rochelle in France, on violin.

"We plan a really upbeat, singalong set with, nonetheless, some truly heartfelt messages about where we're at as a world and a human race," says producer and pianist Jeremy, "but there will be, as always with our Glastonbury performances, plenty of freebies and fun and audience interaction! We can't wait!"

The band will be playing on Thursday 22nd June at 1.35pm on the Toad Hall stage and 8pm on the Mandala stage, both in the Green Futures area of the festival.
