As Wells prepares for its much-anticipated carnival, residents and visitors should be aware of significant road restrictions that will be in effect from Friday, 17th November at 6:00 am to Saturday, 18th November at 4:00 am.

During this period, Tor Street (B3139) will be subject to a no-parking regulation. This is a crucial measure as Tor Street will serve as the main entry point to Wells from Bishops Park Way (A371) and will also function as the primary escape route for the event.

The restriction is in place to ensure smooth traffic flow and easy access for emergency services if needed.

Similarly, Jocelyn Drive will also have a no parking rule enforced throughout the duration of the carnival. This measure is to facilitate the smooth movement of carnival processions and to ensure safety for all attendees.

Additionally, there will be changes in access to Morrisons Supermarket. Full access will be available from the Glastonbury Road (Tincknells) roundabout but only until 6 pm on Friday, 17th November. After this time, access will be restricted due to the carnival activities.

These road restrictions are an essential part of the carnival's logistical planning, ensuring that the event runs smoothly and safely. The carnival is a key highlight in Wells' cultural calendar, attracting a large number of participants and spectators.

Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly during these times and to consider alternative parking options.
