The Courtyard Restaurant in Wells has announced it will close its doors for good after 16 years of service.

Owners cited changing social eating habits and the challenges of recent years as key reasons for their decision, stating that they are now ready to move on to the next chapter of their lives.

In a statement, they said: "After 16 years of quality service, we have decided to close The Courtyard Restaurant doors. With changes in social eating habits and battling against some of the most unprecedented times, we are now ready to start the next chapter of our lives."

The restaurant's final day of service will be Mothering Sunday, 30 March 2025.

Until then, customers are invited to enjoy one last meal at the popular venue, with new deals and offers available in the coming weeks.

The owners also expressed their gratitude to those who have supported them over the years: "We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have supported us throughout the 16 years we have been open."
