Nurture vets launches cat-only clinics
By Laura Linham 26th Feb 2026
A Wells veterinary practice has launched dedicated cat-only clinics at its city hospital.
Nurture Vet Hospital is accredited by International Cat Care as a Cat Friendly Clinic at gold level standard, recognising the highest tier of feline-focused care. The practice is now running dedicated cat-only sessions every Monday from 2pm to 4pm at the Nurse Hub entrance at the rear of its Wells site.
The clinics first began in October 2025 and are continuing this year. Appointments must be booked in advance through the reception team.
The International Cat Care Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation is awarded to practices that meet specific criteria designed to reduce stress and improve the veterinary experience for cats.
During the dedicated sessions in Wells, cats are seen separately from dogs in an environment designed to minimise anxiety. The practice provides a cat-only waiting area, dedicated cattery facilities and staff trained in feline handling and care.
Nurture says the aim is to ensure visits are as calm and comfortable as possible for cats and reassuring for owners in Wells and across Somerset.
The cat-only clinics are currently running weekly on Monday afternoons, with bookings open.
