Recycling delays cause disruption across Wells and North Mendip area

Recycling collections in Wells and the North Mendip area may be delayed today (Wednesday 24 September) due to a range of operational issues, Somerset Council advises.
Areas affected include Frome, Norton St Philip, Rode and Radstock. The council says residents whose recycling has not been collected should leave their boxes and bags out — crews will return the next day. There is no need to report missed collections immediately unless they remain uncollected after 24 hours.
To help clear the backlog, crews are preparing to work extra hours and may operate on Saturday if needed.
Households whose collections were missed on Tuesday, 23 September in Wells, Westbury‑sub‑Mendip, Stratton‑on‑the‑Fosse, Chilcompton, Priddy, Holcombe, Oakhill, Dulcote, Coleford and Draycott are scheduled to have their recycling collected today (Wednesday).
If more than 24 hours pass without collection, residents are asked to report a missed collection via Somerset Council's online form.
