Two men have appeared in court after hunt hounds allegedly damaged a badger sett in Priddy. The case relates to an incident on Saturday, 13 December 2025, when hounds are alleged to have entered the sett and caused damage.

Charlie Thomas, 33, from Flemingstone, and Sam Colbourn, 35, from Chewton Mendip, were listed to appear at Yeovil Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 7 July. They face a charge of interfering with badger setts.

A badger sett is a network of tunnels used by badgers for shelter. Badgers and their setts are strictly protected under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992.

Avon and Somerset Police said its Rural Crime Team launched an investigation into the incident.
