Free motorcycle safety workshop coming to Wells Fire Station
By Laura Linham 5th Oct 2026
Motorcyclists can learn how to help someone injured in a crash at a free workshop at Wells Fire Station this month.
The Biker Down session will take place at the station in Burcott Road on Saturday, 17 October, from 9.30am to 1.30pm. The practical workshop will cover what to do when arriving at a collision and how to help before the emergency services reach the scene.
The programme is delivered by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service's Fire Bike Team in partnership with Somerset Road Safety.
Training covers assessing the scene and identifying dangers, followed by basic first aid for injured riders. Topics include dealing with severe bleeding, performing CPR and removing a motorcycle helmet.
A further section looks at how motorcyclists can make themselves more visible to other road users.
The course is aimed at motorcyclists who want to be better prepared if they encounter a crash, whether they are riding alone or with others.
Places for the Wells workshop can be booked free through the Biker Down Eventbrite listing.
