A new restaurant has opened in Wells.

The Olive Tree has taken over 5 Sadler Street (the building that used to house Goodfellows) and has been busy rebranding the front the building with shiny new signs, decorating the inside and putting together delicious menus.

The website is yet to go live, but you can view the menu and some of the delicious looking dishes that are coming out of the kitchen on The Olive Tree's Facebook page and you can book here: https://svtables.com/widget/?rest_id=454.

As the name of the restaurant suggests, the menu has largely influenced by Mediterranean flavours, with dishes such as starters of Cornish crab cannelloni, and a Jerusalem artichoke trio; main courses like pan-fried sea bass or a coq au vin; and dessert options include apple tart tatin, dark chocolate delice, a roasted banana with peanut butter parfait.

Sadler Street is something of a foodie hub in the city. The Olive Tree will be sitting alongside BDW Bar and Grill, which opened earlier this year, Thai Dragon Wells, the Swan Hotel and long-time favourite Rugantinos at the Ancient Gatehouse, as well as Santé Wines and The Courtyard Restaurant in the Heritage Courtyard.
