House prices in Wells slip 3.7% but remain among the highest in Somerset

House prices in Wells have dipped nearly 4% in the past year, new figures show.
The BA5 postcode, which covers Wells, saw the average home sell for £362,516 in the 12 months to May — down from £376,709 the year before.
Even so, Wells remains one of the pricier housing markets in Somerset. Homes are cheaper in nearby Shepton Mallet (£332,952), Street (£294,128) and Glastonbury (£333,730).
Across the county, Wedmore continues to top the price table at £582,420, while Bruton averages £471,395.
Zoopla's Richard Donnell said: "The rise in available listings, especially across southern England, is reinforcing a buyer's market and helping keep house price growth in check."
