A carnival club from Wells is asking people who shop online to help it get through the coronavirus crisis.

Globe CC is looking to raise funds through the Easyfundraising website, where people can donate a small percentage of what they spend online to an organisation or cause.

Carnival clubs rely on fundraising activities throughout the year to pay for the creation of their spectacular carts to display in the annual carnivals.

However, with the coronavirus crisis this year, most events have been cancelled, as have the carnivals themselves.

With Easyfundraising, you sign up to support a cause, and then every time you spend money online with the selected retailers, a small percentage of what you spend goes to that cause automatically.

Among the online retailers signed up to the scheme are Ebay, John Lewis, Argos, Amazon, M&S, Sainsbury's and Aviva.

Globe Carnival Club was founded in 1968 by employees of Unigate before moving to the Globe Inn, Wells, in 1975. It is now based at the Tramways club in the city.

To support the club through Easyfundraising, you can visit its page here.
