If you're settled but restless, loyal but curious, or just quietly wondering what else is out there, welcome.

This week's Wells-area jobs round-up covers admin, analytics, care, trades and a couple of proper big-ticket roles — all within a manageable commute and without pretending work is anything other than work.

Right on Wells' doorstep, there's a steady Service Administrator (Contract) – JLA Group, Wells role paying £24,000 a year. It's all about logging service jobs, dealing with customer enquiries, chasing engineer paperwork and prepping invoices. Structured, admin-heavy, and ideal for someone who likes lists, systems and knowing exactly what they're doing when they sit down with a coffee.

For something more hands-on (and with higher earning potential), Installer – Hillarys, Wells area could be the one. Hillarys are offering flexible full or part-time work, £50k earning potential, and a setup that suits people who like independence without office politics. Measuring windows, fitting blinds, moving on — no meetings about meetings.

If spreadsheets are more your thing, Street isn't far and has a Data Analyst – Merchandising, Street role based at head office (BA16 0EQ). Permanent position, working within a merchandising team to turn numbers into decisions that actually affect stock and sales. Salary's not listed, but if forecasting and dashboards don't make your soul leave your body, it's worth a look.

Up in Upper Langford, JPAT are recruiting a Full-time Warehouse / Stores Assistant – JPAT, Upper Langford. This is a proper Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm role dealing with automatic transmission parts — torque converters, remanufactured components and shelves that need to stay in order. Competitive pay depending on experience, plus pension and accident/illness cover. Picking, packing, stock control and the satisfaction of finding the right thing first time.

For care work that's about more than just clocking in, Activity Co-ordinator – Somerset Care, Castle Cary is paying £13.26 an hour with enhanced weekend rates. Somerset Care provide full training, ongoing support and a role focused on planning activities that genuinely improve residents' days. Wagestream, Blue Light Card discounts and qualifications included.

If you don't mind being on the road, a Driver Representative – Glastonbury role is offering a headline £55,000 a year. No cold calling, no door knocking — just pre-booked appointments, measurements, surveys and showing samples. Full-time, permanent, and very much not parcel delivery.

At the more senior end of the spectrum, Site Technical Manager – Mars Petcare, Castle Cary is a heavyweight role. Mars Petcare are after someone to lead engineering and maintenance teams, manage million-pound budgets and keep a major FMCG site running smoothly. Permanent, demanding, and not for the faint-hearted.

And if you're feeling truly ambitious, there's the kind of job that doesn't come up often: Director – Glastonbury Abbey. Glastonbury Abbey are recruiting a new Director following the retirement of Janet Bell MBE. £66,445–£70,137 FTE, permanent, and responsible for leading one of England's most important historic sites into its next chapter. Serious responsibility, serious impact.
