A weekend of music, history, and springtime celebrations in Wells

Wells is set to offer a weekend brimming with cultural and family-friendly activities, providing a range of events that cater to all interests.
The weekend's events begin with a musical treat at Cedars Hall on Friday, 2nd February. The venue will host 'Robert Plane - Clarinet with Tim Horton - Piano', a recital featuring two masterpieces by Brahms and Lutoslawski, along with a collection of recent short works. On Sunday, 4th February, the day starts with a Sunday Breakfast at Christ Church, Henton, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, providing a peaceful start to the morning. Simultaneously, Wells Sport & Fitness at the Wells Leisure Centre is hosting the Rugbytots Wells FREE Open Day from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, a perfect opportunity for young sports enthusiasts.
Also on Sunday, Cedars Hall presents 'Tous les Matins du Monde', a film that delves into the life of 17th-century musician Marin Marais. This movie is part of a series organised by Wells Cathedral School's Friends of Music. Admission is free, but booking is necessary. More details can be found here.
Throughout February, The Bishop's Palace hosts its popular "Snowdrop Celebrations." Visitors can enjoy guided walks around the Moat banks and participate in children's trails with a small prize upon completion. Monday, 5th February, sees two significant events. Firstly, the ROYAL AIR FORCES ASSOCIATION MID-SOMERSET BRANCH FEBRUARY MEETING at Wells Golf Club, featuring a presentation on the Falklands War. Later that day, St Thomas' Church hosts the Cafe Concert: Iberia, where Trio Paradis will play music by Spanish composers. The event includes a pop-up café serving tea, coffee, and homemade cakes. Concerts are by donation, with more information available at Cafe Concert: Iberia.
