Who Are We?Nurture Pet Health is an independent, well-established vet practice in the beautiful city of Wells in Somerset (yes, think Hot Fuzz!). We are proud to be an RCVS Tier 3 Hospital practice with an amazing client base, and a dedicated and passionate team. We are Dog Friendly, Cat Friendly (Gold), and Rabbit Friendly (Silver), and also an Educational Partner Practice working with the University of Bristol training the next generation of vets. We are passionate about providing exceptional care to pets, their people and our team. What are we looking for?Are you a vet with good clinical and surgical experience, maybe with a certificate to complement our existing team, or a desire to complete one in the next few years? Are you looking for your next position in a supportive hospital practice where you can carve out your own niche, or can continue to develop and grow your skill base? Number of years qualified is less important to us than exposure to clinical cases and responsibilities - if you have confidence, a positive outlook, and enjoy working in a close-knit team then we would love to hear from you. What can we offer? Our 4 day working week will hold a mixture of consults and ops days, which can be tailored to complement your preferences. Standard appointments are twenty minutes long, with double slots booked out for complex cases, second opinions and euthanasias. Admin time is booked out for phone calls, lab reports etc and you get an hour's lunch. You can expect great support from a fabulous, experienced nursing team, a happy bunch of receptionists, and a highly capable Practice Manager. We're very open to flexible working requests or a part-time role for the right candidate. We feel very fortunate to have a wonderful, friendly client base who are motivated to do the best for their pets. We allocate time for monthly vet meetings, as well as regular M&M rounds. We have a full range of Idexx in-house lab machines, laparoscopic surgical equipment, digital xray, dental xray and endoscopy equipment. The nitty-gritty Our working day is 8.30-6pm, and vets are expected to take an equal share of the on-call rota for weeknights and weekends (currently 1 in 6, working the Saturday until 4pm and having the Monday off in lieu). We have night nurses on site 24/7 for inpatient care, and there is a private, recently refurbished flat on site for vets to use if needed. It would be advantageous if the successful candidate was able occasionally cover day shifts at our 'satellite' practice in Weston-Super-Mare (which we run as a stand-alone clinic with it's own theatre, lab, imaging, dental suite, and laparascopic equipment, we just doesn't hospitalise pets there for overnight or ongoing care).Salary from £37,000 - £60,000 DoE, benefits include five week's holiday (plus your birthday day as an additional day off), sick pay, discounted pet-care, and lots of cake, biscuits, and out-of-work social events!.The summary Every day we feel proud to be part of something special and of the people we work with. As a team we believe in the absolute best patient and client care, with kindness at the heart of what we do. If you are a like-minded individual who shares our values, and would like to be part of our journey to create something special, please do not hesitate to take a look at our website, pick up the phone for an informal chat, and/or email with your application and any questions.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: £37,000.00-£60,000.00 per yearBenefits: Company pension Cycle to work scheme Employee discount Free parking Health & wellbeing programme On-site parking Sick paySchedule: Day shift Weekend availabilityEducation: Bachelor's (required)Experience: Veterinary experience: 1 year (required)Licence/Certification: MRCVS (required)Work Location: In person
