Wells Food Festival
Market Square, The Palace Moat and the Recreation Ground
Food
UNTIL Sunday 8th October
Wells Food Festival is back, providing another day of free foodie adventures for the whole family, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
The festival is a celebration of the region's artisan producers and rich food culture. This year there will be 200 stalls in the Artisan Market, showcasing and selling their culinary delights, with mouthwatering inspiration from around the world, created using local ingredients.
New exciting events include the Charlie Bigham's Plate Spinning Championship, situated in the Recreation Ground. Give plate spinning a whirl in this new festival competition and the winner will receive dinner for two for a whole year on Charlie Bigham's.
The festival is dedicating an area to highlight current, food related social issues. Lots of local charities and organisations have come together in The Food for Thought marquee in the Recreation Ground, to provide hints and tips on how to tackle some of the challenges that face us through food poverty, food waste, high energy bills and family issues.
The Celebrating English Wine marquee makes a welcome return, and for younger festival visitors, the Children's Zone will feature innovative street food stalls for smaller appetites and host four free cookery workshops with the Fun Kitchen pop-up cookery school.
Sunday 8 October, 10.30am-4.30pm. Free Entry. For all the latest information, visit www.wellsfoodfestival.co.uk
