Two local pupils from Wells Cathedral School have had a busy summer representing England at hockey.

Lower Sixth pupil Lily Webb from Launcherley and Upper Sixth pupil Megan Taylor from Wookey Hole both played for their respective age-group teams at the England Hockey Home Nations tournament held at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire.

Lily played for the England Under-16 team, while Megan played for the England Under-17 Whites team.

Both girls played exceedingly well during the tournament, winning all of their matches, to meet in the Finals, which the Under-16 team won.

The girls' sporting prowess continued through the summer, with Megan representing the regional Wessex Leopards Under-17 team in the Futures Cup at St Albans Hockey Club last month, and Lily playing at an Under-18 trial for England last weekend at the Lilleshall Centre.
