You can watch the fudge being poured, paddled and made on site
A one-stop shop for equipment, home improvements and advice that will help people live independently at home for longer will open next week near Wellington.
The service aims to help people get the equipment and home improvements they need to support them to stay independent and living in a place of their choice. Walking frames to hand rails, hoists to level access showers are now available through the new service.

One fire appliance from Street, one from Glastonbury and one from Bridgwater were mobilised to reports of a lounge on fire. Fire Control mobilised a fourth appliance, from Somerton, due to the information callers were giving.
On arrival, crews confirmed the property well alight and got to work with one main jet, one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus wearers. Shortly after, a request was made for a further two appliances. These were sent from Wells and Bridgwater.
At 2243, crews confirmed this was 3 properties involved in fire. Crews were using 6 breathing apparatus attempting to put the fire out. A request was made for the electricity board and gas board to attend, due to utilities being involved in fire.
At 2330, crews confirmed utilities isolated to the adjacent properties but not the middle property where the fire started. Crews were still tackling the fire with jets attempting to put the fire out.

Gambling venues in Wells will take part in Responsible Gambling Week, the biggest ever industry-wide campaign to promote responsible gambling.
Responsible Gambling Week runs from November 1-7 and involves every major operator in the UK and Ireland from all five industry sectors, casinos, bookmakers, arcades, bingo and online, and is supported by gambling charities. Staff at gambling venues will discuss with customers, how to keep gambling fun and safe.
The Somerset Libraries redesign report published earlier this week recommends Somerset County Council continues to run a library building in Shepton Mallet, but its exact location is still to be decided.
Feedback from the library consultation, which ran earlier this year, shows local people would prefer to keep a library building as close to the town centre as possible. After considering this feedback and the issues with the current site, Somerset County Council acknowledges that a decision needs to be made on the future location of the library.

The Chairman of Somerset County Council has presented four cave divers with the authority's first ever awards for bravery.
Chris Jewel, Connor Roe, Josh Bratchley, and John Volanthen were among 41 residents to receive awards in recognition of their contribution to the county and its communities.

Recommendations for the future of Somerset's Libraries Service were unveiled today (16 October), with a final decision expected to be made next month (5 November).
For the remaining 15 library buildings, Somerset County Council would seek to develop 'Community Library Partnerships' (CLPs) where communities would support library buildings in partnership with the County Council.

One Fire Engine from Glastonbury was sent to a report of a fire that could be seen in the distance. On arrival crews confirmed this was several agricultural buildings and various vehicles involved in the fire. A further Fire Engine from Street and one from Wells was sent and a Water Carrier from Bridgwater.

On Monday (15 October) the first of a number of county-wide events takes place to hear local people's views on health and care in Somerset, and explore how it could change in future.
The first two sessions take place next week; the first is at Berrow Village Hall, Burnham-on-Sea, on Monday afternoon, 3pm-6.30pm, closely followed by Great Bow Wharf, Langport on Wednesday 17 October, 10am to 2pm).
