Festive fundraising around Wells makes hundreds for mental health charity

A trio of fundraising events around Wells over the festive period helped raises hundreds of pounds for the mental health charity Heads Up.

The charity, which is based in South Horrington, has revealed the amounts raised, and would like to thank the organisations involved for their help.

Wells roadworks for week commencing February 3

There will be temporary traffic lights on the Strawberry Way Roundabout in Wells for a month from next week.

The multi-way lights will be in place at the roundabout, where the A39 and A371 meet, from Saturday February 8 to March 4.

A total of 100 new homes will be built on the western edge of Wells after Mendip councillors voted to approve amended plans.

Gladman Developments put forward outline plans for 100 homes on the B3139 Elm Close, not far from two other proposed major developments on the edge of the city.
