Location: Hartlake Straight, Hartlake, Glastonbury
Fire appliances from Glastonbury and Street were mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision at the above location.
On arrival at the incident fire crews report a two vehicle road traffic collision with one vehicle on its side in a ditch with 2 persons trapped. Air ambulance, police and multiple ambulances were in attendance. Fire crews performed a controlled rollover of the vehicle using heavy rescue winch, air bags, a large tirfor winch with ground anchors and specialist hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the side of the vehicle. Casualties were extricated and left in the hands of ambulance personnel.

Location: East Water Lane, Priddy, Cheddar
Fire appliances from Cheddar and Wells, along with the Water Carrier from Bridgwater were mobilised to a report of a building on fire in the above location.
The incident involved a stable building of timber and cement board construction measuring 15 metres x 25 metres. The building suffered 25% fire damage and 75% smoke damage. Fire crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereel jets, 2 covering jets and 2 thermal image cameras to check for hotspots. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
Wells's Got Talent is being held in aid of St Margaret's Hospice on Saturday 28th September in the Ballroom at Wells Town Hall from 7pm to 10.30pm.
Entry costs £10 and spectator tickets are £5. Emma Britton from the BBC and also patron for St Margaret's Hospice will be the celebrity guest judge.

THE Liberal Democrats, Wells Independents and Green Party have all done well in the Wells City Council elections, while the Conservatives have fared badly.
Among those who lost out were Conservatives John North, Harvey Siggs, Richard Greenwell and David Swain, who were all standing for re-election.

A former leader of Somerset County Council was one of those to lose his seat
Wells Independents have taken two of the four seats in Central area of the city in the election.
Adrian Francis I'Anson got the most number of votes with 412, with fellow Wells Independent Philip Fairnington Welch getting 385. Also elected are Liberal Democrat Alice Chloe Rees who got 403 votes and the Green Party's Pamela Crena Crummay who got 274 votes.
Creative, community-based dementia support is being expanded across Somerset with the help of grants from Somerset County Council.
The Council's scheme – which should eventually see £565,000 of grants awarded – is supporting grass roots, community projects that offer innovative ways of providing support that encourages people with dementia to socialise and take an active part in their communities.

The Liberal Democrats have taken both Wells St Cuthbert's seats from the Conservatives in the Mendip District Council elections 2019.
Rob Ayres topped the polls with 670 votes, with fellow Lib Dem Laura Jayne Waters taking the other seat with 635 votes.
